Pairing your store

Pairing links one Framer project to your Shopify store with a one-time code — no API keys to copy, no theme code to edit.

Pairing is a one-time exchange. You generate a short-lived code in the Shopify admin, enter it in the plugin, and the plugin receives a private, per-store key that it uses for everything afterwards. Your Shopify credentials never pass through the browser or get stored in Framer.

Pairing code

Codes expire 15 minutes after they're generated and can be used once. Generating a new code revokes the previous key — any other Framer project paired with the same store drops back to the login screen and needs the new code (see Re-pairing & rotation).

Generate a pairing code

  1. Open the Framerlink app in Shopify

In your Shopify admin, go to Apps → Framerlink.

  2. Copy your store name

In Pairing Setup, copy the store name exactly as shown — the plugin matches on it.

  3. Generate the code

Click Generate Pairing Code and keep the code handy; the clock starts now.

Pair the plugin

  1. Open Framerlink in your Framer project

Plugins → Framerlink shows the Connect to Framerlink screen.

  2. Enter store name and code

Paste the store name and the pairing code into the two fields.

  3. Log in

Press Login. On success the plugin stores its key, primes your catalog, and opens the home screen.

One store per project

A Framer project pairs with a single Shopify store at a time. To switch stores, disconnect first from the store card in the CMS panel, then pair with the other store's code.

Re-pairing & rotation

Two situations put an already-paired project back on the login screen:

  • You generated a new pairing code. The old key is revoked the moment a new code is created. The plugin detects this, keeps your store name and sync settings, and asks only for the new code.
  • The Shopify app was uninstalled. The plugin shows a Store connection lost banner. Reinstall the app, generate a code and reconnect — see Troubleshooting.

In both cases your placed components and CMS collections stay untouched.
